ASTRO BLACK

ASTRO BLACK is a fine-meshed interplay between large-scale acoustic sounds and electronic deconstruction. In this 'big band reduction' lies a gem with many facets and you might even discover a melodramatic love song, a meditation, a murderous attitue or an embracing comment on kitsch.
ASTRO BLACK started out in 2004 as an acoustic ensemble with a double quartet of acoustic instruments playing lines and patterns 'stereo'. Sporadic performances at special events in Denmark led to an enhancement of the concept, and during the years the orchestra grew to as many as 22 musicians and also included electronic live sound manipulation. In 2008, the band was reduced to a minimum of members, now with an intentional focus on the electronic possibilities of sound manipulation, and as a live band ASTRO BLACK now comes in many different shapes and sizes.

GLÖGGERNE

Glöggerne is a Danish duo that practices sonic magic.
Glöggerne exist in a parallel miniature universe on the edge on reality where 40 kilos of plastic toys, amplified objects and tiny electrical devices are the focal point in a game of life and death.

MOSKUS

'Having decided to follow only the most inner creative urge, and to have this very urge as our guide, our state of mind is set to music through an intense act of interplay, instinctively combining both electronic and acoustic elements as part of our sound. We play passionate music derived from our modern way of life, dreams, and experiences, resulting in an entranced universe, which contains elements of jazz, modern classical music, electronica, rock, noise, and the unknown.' - MOSKUS
'This is marvelous and consistent music: it is meditative, brutish, varied, and it has energy. Not for all hit lists, but it has international potential...'
- Pierre Dørge (Danish musician and band leader)
The cornerstones of MOSKUS are Mikkel Ring and Christian Skjødt, but on stage MOSKUS is often joined by guest musicians. Previously, MOSKUS has collaborated with Eugene Chadbourne (US), Pat Thomas (UK), Lotte Anker (DK), Simon Toldam (DK), Peter Dahlgren (DK), Hasse Poulsen (DK/F), Pierre Dørge (DK), Jakob Mygind (DK), Martin Klapper (CZ), Robert Cole Rizzi (DK/US), Jakob Skov (DK), Jakob Mygind (DK) and many others. MOSKUS have participated in crossover projects with danish classical and electronical musicians, both as composers and performers.

KNOB A SIESTA

"Condensed, dusty, and crackling, but very intense manoeuvres, somewhere in between ambient, new contemporary music, noise, film music and drones, that is full of urban nightmoods. And one of those records that is terribly hard to put into precise words. It has to be heard."
Steffen B. Pedersen // Geiger
The Danish duo, Knob A Siesta, was formed in 2003 and consists of Casper Bach Hegstrup and Christian Skjødt, and brings together these two very different musicians through their shared love of electronic music. Without the use of set rhythmic structures of much actual melodic material, the music shifts from quiet, droning planes of sound through beautiful sonorous passages towards noisier spheres. The music is created through the use of various objects, electronics, toys, keyboards and computers.

YOU HAD ME AT HELLO

Influenced by the 60's free jazz-scene and more contemporary European approaches, the music of You Had Me At Hello rapidly changes from exploding energy to more meditative and quiet modes. The music stretches from tonal to non-tonal, from minimalistic to dense patterns and textures. All this is resulting in the many-coloured and detailed universe that defines the sound of the trio. This European group was founded in 2007 at ‘The Banff Centre of Arts’ high up in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, where the three members met for the first time. The connection was strong and a common musical language was instantly created, and since then the group has been playing on a regular basis, touring in France, Norway and Denmark. You Had Me At Hello has been working with great musicians such as Oliver Lake (US), Sylvie Courvoisier (CH), Ab Baars (NL) and Michael Moore (US)
